ENW in Pompeii
Today I listened to 'ENW in Pompeii' in English News Weekly. In this podcast, ENW were talking about Pompeii, a antient city where was destroyed by the eruption of a volcano.
ENW team went to Rome to visit the ruins of Pompeii. They first arrived at a small town of Sorrento to have breakfast. After an hour, they leave the town to continue their journey to Pompeii. After arrived at Pompeii, they were worried about the fact that the Mt Vesuvius is still an active volcano. This mountain is just the volcano that destroyed Pompeii about 2000 years ago. Before had been destroyed, Pompeii was a very large city in Rome that had held about 20,000 people. However it buried in the volcanic ashes on that October day in 79AD.
After I listened to this Podcast, I was surprised at the fact that The word 'volcano' was came from the eruption of the Mt. Vesuvius! I want to visit this ruins someday.
